The Sims 4: Pregnancy Features

Pregnancy in The Sims 4

Pregnancy in The Sims 4 has four stages. First, you try to have a baby with "Woohoo" then when your Sim starts showing symptoms (Nausea) you can "Take A Pregnancy Test" using the toilet for $15. The pregnancy then lasts three more Sim days (three trimesters). This might be a good time to take a vacation from work if you have vacation days. In the second day, you can "Ask due date" and "Ask to Feel Baby". During the third day, you open up Family Leave as an option for work. This is also available for a limited time after the baby is born. Your Sim will get bigger each day as the baby gets bigger. The Get to Work Expansion opens up a few more interactions for Doctor sims to interact with pregnant sims.

Once the three days are up, the countdown is on for when your Sim will go into labor.

Once your Sim does go into labor you have the baby at home. If you have the Get to Work expansion pack installed then you can choose to either have the baby at home or at the hospital. That's pretty much pregnancy in The Sims 4 in a nutshell. Not much to it, but if you want your Sims to go through the experience they can or they can simply adopt or start off with children in Create A Sim.

This is what the hospital birth looks like if Get to Work is installed.

Working out in The Sims 4

Push-ups in The Sims 4

I haven't really played around much with working out in The Sims 4 yet, but I decided to go ahead and post this post because two of my favorite features of The Sims 4 involve working out. I love that our Sims can now do Push-Ups and Sit-Ups. I also like how realistic these actions look when your Sims do them. Sometimes I just have my Sims stop and do a few push-ups and/or sit-ups just to watch. Lol. I will update this post once I play more with the athletic feature of The Sims 4.

First impressions of The Sims 4

First Impressions

Okay, so by far my favorite thing so far about The Sims 4 is the multitasking. Eating and drinking together, reading a book and watching tv, etc. It's so cool to finally be able to multitask. I still haven't really played very long, but I also like the baby features. My Sim had her baby and I like that you can breastfeed as well as the other interactions (more than you could do in previous The Sims versions at the baby stage). I also like the ease of the build mode. I was able to put together a new house for my Sim and her family fairly easily with the "drop a furnished room" feature. I LOVE all of the different skills and plants. I also like the way the Lifetime wish is broken down into phases with goals for each phase. One dislike is the camera, sometimes it just won't zoom in the way I want it to and that's frustrating. Like I said, I still have only played a small fraction of time, but I hope to update more as I play through more.

Here is a post I made when I first started playing that gives more details on my likes and dislikes:First Thoughts on the Sims 4 Likes/Dislikes

My Sim Story

Hello all! If you've stumbled upon this blog you are probably a fan of The Sims. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to update the blog, but I'll do what I can. I wanted to start with my own Sim story. I was first exposed to The Sims with the original game. I guess I was in about fourth or fifth grade at a friend's house and we started playing. I then got my own copy of The Sims Deluxe (so base game and I think two expansions). My parents took it away because they felt it was inappropriate. Anywho then I was like 13 and I found it and asked for it back and my parents let me have it back. Since then I owned all of The Sims 1 and expansions (since donated to Goodwill). All of The Sims 2 and expansions (except I think I did skip a stuff pack or two). I also have The Sims 3 and all expansions (except at this point not all of the custom store content or all stuff packs). I also bought the base game of The Sims 4 and I have The Sims Medieval. This blog will mostly be The Sims 4 and The Sims 3. Depending on the time I have to play and other factors, it may be more of The Sims 4. I hope you enjoy reading about my Sims. :-)
